THE DOLOMITES
Alpine rock climbing in the Dolomites is more than just a sport — it is an unforgettable adventure where the mountains challenge your body and inspire your soul. When I think of the majestic summits and rugged walls rising against the sky, I feel immediately the pull of this extraordinary region. The Dolomites are not just a place for climbers — they are a paradise for anyone who wants to encounter nature in its purest form.
The Dolomites are one of the most impressive climbing areas in the Alps — and outstanding training ground for demanding high-alpine objectives. Excellent rock, short or epic approaches, long or leisurely climbing days: ideal terrain for alpine multipitch routes with real alpine character — often lengthy, always worth it.
We’ll explore the sunny faces of these dramatic peaks, planning each day based on conditions, group level and ambition. Complex and demanding tours require physical fitness, confident climbing ability and sharp route-finding skills in complex terrain — which is exactly what these days are designed to build.
Base is Hotel Brückele in Ausserprags: outstanding cuisine, the hottest sauna in the region, a world-famous bar — and the walls of the Hohe Gaisl right on the doorstep.
Small groups of one to six climbers, organised into ropes of two — for focused instruction without losing the shared climbing experience. Or an exclusive private guiding format.
COURSE OBJECTIVES AND GOALS
This programme is ideal for climbers comfortable on 4c–5c terrain who want to expand their skills, climb longer routes and enjoy the challenge of alpine terrain with an emphasis on gear placement, anchor-building and efficient team climbing.
We’ll practise and refine:
– Multi-pitch climbing techniques and rope team efficiency
– Placing and trusting cams, chocks, slings, and natural protection
– Belaying using various anchor types — from in-situ bolts to natural features and pitons
– Rappel and lowering techniques
– Route-finding in complex terrain
– Climbing skills such as slab, crack, corners, and exposed ridge climbing

Cima del Lago — Southwest Route
Steep alpine routes perfect for refining skills on natural gear — the ideal application climb for high-alpine training.

A panoramic traverse through the stunning Fanes-Sennes-Prags Nature Park on interesting, varied rock — practically on the doorstep of the Brückele.
Education & Coaching
In the nearby crags (Höhlenstein, Hexenstein, Lagazuoi and others): anchor building — including on fragile fixed points — abseiling and lowering, piton placement, placing chocks, friends, cams, tricams, sliders and thread anchors, lead and second belaying from self-built anchors, and improvised mountain rescue.

Basecamp: Gasthaus Brückele
After a long day on the wall, there is nothing better than unwinding at Hotel Brückele / Albergo Ponticello. First-class cuisine, a sauna with the biggest and most powerful stove in the area, and the world-famous bar to round off the experience. With the imposing walls of the Gaisl right outside the door, this place feels like paradise.

PREPARATION TOWARDS BIGGER OBJECTIVES
These climbing days also lay the foundation for demanding high-alpine routes like Matterhorn, Weisshorn, or other — and combined with winter ice and mixed climbing, form a complete training year:
