The Haute Route in the Urner Alps is a classic 5-6 days ski traverse that offers breathtaking alpine scenery and steep skiing joys. It is a dream come true for passionate skiers hungry for adventures.
Ski touring journey begins in the picturesque town of Andermatt, nestled in the heart of the Swiss Alps. From here, skiers make their way towards the freeriding paradise Engelberg, Voralp-Variante.
Enjoy the excitement of climbing up the long, sun-kissed terrain, followed by descents on the southern faces of the mountains. If you love the thrill of navigating narrow, steep descents on the north faces, this traverse promises anunforgettable experience. It’s an invitation to embrace the heights and carve your story amidst these stunning landscapes, all within the intimacy of a small group, max 4 participants. It is a classy hut to hut alpine crossing.
Alternative destinations (if conditions aren’t ideal, worry not): Central Switzerland, Berner Oberland, Vanoise, Piemont, and Prättigau.

COURSE DETAILS:
Required skills:
– Proficient in backcountry skiing, have experience in different snow conditions and across diverse terrains
– Backcountry Preparation Clinic is mandatory before the trip
– Confidence in executing kick turns
– Experience with crampons and ice axe
– Excellent fitness and acclimatisation required
– Avalanche safety knowledge
– Resilience to winter alpinism and harsh conditions
Organisational details:
– Group size: 1 – 4 participants
– Accommodation: mountain huts (dormitory), half board
– Travel: your travel plans are individual and flexible, location can be reached by public transport
– Meeting in the evening before
– Guidance: led by an experienced IVBV / UIAGM mountain guide
– Duration: 5-6 days ski traverse
Course Pricing and participants rates:
– The course and guiding fee varies depending on the number of participants in a group, with group sizes ranging from 1 to 4 individuals.
