Join me for a Skiers’ Journey in Central Switzerland, a 2 to 7 days guided adventure tailored for skiing enthusiasts eager to explore the world of backcountry skiing while enjoying the convenience of ski lifts and trains to gain some vertical meters. We’ll be based in a comfy hotel in Disentis, the enchanting town nestled in the heart of the Swiss Alps. The area offers a perfect blend of freeskiing joys, stunning alpine landscapes, and a variety of skiing options, ranging from well-prepared pistes to wild backcountry terrain.

Gemsstock Free-Tour:
Start the journey in Andermatt and hop on the Gemsstock cable car. Ski down from Unteralptal to the Vermigel hut. Feeling adventurous? Let’s go for a challenging ski tour to either Piz Giubin or Piz Alv. Wrap up the day with a descent through Unteralptal.
Oberalp Pass Ski-Tour:
We’ll take a train to Oberalp Pass and ski tour to Piz Nurschala. Ski down to Maighels hut. From there, climb up to Rossbodenstock and cruise all the way down into Tschamut.
Piz Ault Free-Tour:
We’ll hop on a cable car to Piz Ault for an fancy start. Ascend Oberalpstock and relish a breathtaking descent into Val Cavardiras.
Stremhörner Free-Tour:
Let’s take a cable car to Piz Ault for convenient start of the day. Take the via ferrata route to summit Stremhörner, with the possibility of climbing over Oberalpstock. Ski down into Val Strem for the grand finale.

The guided adventure provides a mix of backcountry skiing, the use of ski lifts and train to gain elevation, and overnight stays in a comfortable hotel (and huts), ensuring a memorable skiers’ journey in Central Switzerland. So grab your gear and get ready to hit the slopes. It’s gonna be one heck of a ride!

COURSE DETAILS:
Required skills:
– Proficient in backcountry skiing, have experience in different snow conditions and across diverse terrains
– Backcountry Preparation Clinic is mandatory before the trip
– Confidence in executing kick turns
– Experience with crampons and ice axe
– Excellent fitness and acclimatisation required
– Avalanche safety knowledge
– Resilience to winter alpinism and harsh conditions
Organisational details:
– Group size: 1 – 4 participants
– Accommodation: cozy hotel stays with the possibility of rustic hut overnights
– Travel: your travel plans are individual and flexible, location can be reached by public transport
– Guidance: led by an experienced IVBV / UIAGM mountain guide
– Duration: 2 – 7 days
